La visita a Lobo Park, ofreció a los alumnos del IES Torre Almenara la oportunidad de tener una experiencia inolvidable en la cual pudieron pasar una jornada entre lobos. Sus cuidadores los informaron sobre muchas de las características y hábitos de los lobos y sobre las actitudes que se han de adoptar a la hora de tratar con lobos y perros...
Al final de la visita, tuvimos la oportunidad de realizar una entrevista Daniel Weigend, nacido en 1966 en Würzburg, Alemania, ha trabajado con perros casi toda su vida y ha capacitado a perros para la policía y los servicios militares. Durante este tiempo fue desarrollando un gran interés por los lobos y sintió el impulso de compartir el conocimiento y pasión por estos animales maravillosos con los demás. Ha hecho muchos estudios de campo sobre perros y lobos investigando su comportamiento social con más detalle.

-¿Hace cuánto tiempo surgió esta idea?
En realidad, desde siempre quise llevarla a cabo, pero si te tengo que decir una cantidad de años creo que desde hace aproximadamente 25.
-¿Desde cuándo existe Lobo Park?
Desde hace unos diez años.
-¿Cómo ha sido la adaptación al clima por parte de los lobos de
Ha sido realmente fácil, ya que el clima en la tundra experimenta cambios muy bruscos de temperatura entre los que destacan muy bajas temperaturas con, un verano corto de temperaturas muy cálidas sin posibilidad de sombra debido a la baja vegetación. Entonces, el invierno de España les resulta cálido y los veranos transcurren con normalidad ya que tienen en sus recintos numerosos árboles que aportan sombra continuamente y tienen estanques en los que refrescarse.
-¿Cuántas especies diferentes de lobos existen en el parque en este momento?
Actualmente hay cuatro especies diferentes aquí. Las especies son los lobos Timber( Canis lupus occidentalis), los lobos de
-¿Sería posible introducir algún animal vivo con los lobos para fingir que pueden cazar como si permanecieran en libertad?
No, no sólo está prohibido, sino que los lobos tienden a alimentarse, cuando pueden, de animales ya muertos y sería una crueldad exponer a, por ejemplo una oveja a esa experiencia por que los lobos comenzarían a alimentarse de ella sin haberla matado antes, por lo tanto sufriría mucho.
-¿En qué se basa su alimentación?
Se alimentan de carne del matadero de Málaga y con piensos naturales. No se les puede dar animales cuerpos enteros de animales, está prohibido.
-¿Cuántas personas trabajan en Lobo Park?
En estos momentos, ocho personas.
-¿Cómo es la convivencia con lobos?
Es muy buena, ya que no pertenezco a la manada ni entro en el orden jerárquico. Yo me dedico a trabajar con ellos, a observarlos, no los domestico, me limito a quitarles el miedo de los humanos sin hacer desaparecer su instinto.
-¿Cómo es su rutina diaria?
Yo no tengo rutina, en este aspecto soy bastante libre ya que no veo mi trabajo como una tarea lo veo como un placer, el placer de observar los lobos y su comportamiento…
-¿Qué deberíamos aprender de los lobos?
Realmente, deberíamos aprender mucho. Los lobos tienen una gran vida social en la que evitan lis enfrentamientos y las guerras. Son animales muy respetuosos que viven en manada como una gran familia…
